UTM VIKING

What do you know about Kayak? What would kayak give to us? Those are the question are always across my mind when I started to join Kayak in UTM.  But after a few month I join this club, i got the benefits of joining this. First of all it would give us a healthier body as every evening we have the training to improve our skill and stamina. At first it is difficult, but the time pass by now a had already represent UTM to compete with other kayaker from other University.

American?

What is a question you have about the american culture ?Is there something you would like to know more about?

America is ultimately a nation of immigrants and as a result is a cultural mish-mash in every sense of the word. Not only is the country populated by people from foreign countries but all Americans in one way or another trace their ancestry back to another culture, whether Irish, German, Italian or Scottish. Looking around any major city one will notice the ‘melting-pot’ that it is.Most people who come to the United States may already know a few things about the people through TV. Although this is of course a skewed reality some of the stereotypes are true, especially American friendliness and informality. People tend to not wait to be introduced, will begin to speak with strangers as they stand in a queue, sit next to each other at an event, etc. Visitors can often be surprised when people are so informal to the point of being very direct or even rude.

My Vacation

If you could travel to any country(without worrying about a cost, a language barrier or anything else, where would you go? How? What would you do?

If I had this opportunity I want to go to Mekkah. As a Muslim this would very precious thing if we got this opportunity. As a Muslim, we must go there at least once in their life if they can. To be there is a dream to us.

I want to be there to complete our 5th Rukun Islam that is to do Haji. Thats all I want if they give me one chance to travel to other country with free services. If not, I want to go to all around the world and explore everything in this world. I want to know the new culture that i never heard before. I want to see the mighty of Allah S.W.T who created this world nicely.

English??

English is the weakest subject i had ever. Since now, I just once got A's in exam.

The research tell us that human have two side of brain, right and left. They said that people who use the only one side of their brain could have a lot of problem. Same goes to me. I just only use left side of my brain that is why i got trouble in English. Since in school everyone told me that with reading we will improve our English. The problem is, i do not like to reading at all starring at all those word...

So I use the second method which is watching movies. That is interesting right? But... My English is same like before. When I come here, my friend told me to learn English by song. When you listen to the song ist is better to you to look up the lyrics to help you catch up what the song is all about. That is the way I learn English.

University Lifestyle :)

University is the dream of everyone who want to get a better job in future. This is because in University there we will learn a new knowledge. I had choose UTM because there is no other choice available on that time. I came into UTM is not with a normal pathway. I enter UTM 8 month earlier than other first year student. During my secondary school they offer to choose University that we want to go. I chose UTM because UTM is the only University that no need to take Biology subject in SPM as requirement to register. Since childhood my dream is to be an engineer. So that is why I chose UTM.
The lifestyle as a University student is totally different with school. In school, teacher will give everything to the student for their academics, for their test to help them to be success in examination.
But in University there is no one will help you unless you help yourself. There is no teacher to always look at you and make sure you have done all the assignment.

MH370

Do you anything about MH370? you should know it because it is interesting topic. MH370 is a plane from Malaysia Airline Sdn Bhd. This is come to very interesting when this flight suddenly lost. No one know where it is neither hijacked nor crashed because the radar cannot find where it is. On 8th March 2014, at 1.30 am local time the flight are lost from the radar. In the early, everyone expect that the radar system of the flight get problem that they cannot be reach, so we just expecting that the flight should arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport. But the worst come and there is no MH370 landed there. Everyone wondering where is the flight go? Until now there is no answer about the flight. The only thing that we can help is just pray for them, for their family. Pray for MH370.

Homeless by choice

What is your first impression about homeless? dirty, crazy, lazy, pain, lost of hope, unfortunate? There is no word to describe them either who are they or purpose of what they are doing. There are a lot of homeless outside there. In Malaysia, every town or city there will be homeless people walking around to find the place that they can sleep. Personally, I am pity on them as they do not have a enough daily needed to life normally as other. They are not bad people but public see them as bad people. Stop about that and lets move to a person who chose the be a homeless about 1 year!! That is Mislina Mustaffa who chose to be a homeless. In the early, she just want to be a homeless about 1 year only to complete her research about homeless. How public treat them or how the homeless survive. But unfortunately she did not get the enough evidence or data about her research, so she continue her lifestyle as a homeless about 1 year more. This is difficult right? but Mislina Mustaffa still continue her lifestyle. I cannot imagine if that is me.

My Future

 As I am a civil engineering student, for sure i want to be a civil engineer in my future. I want to help my family as we are not from loaded family that have a lot of properties. I want to build a lot of building around my village and maybe one day it will become a city. That is just my imagination about my village in future.. lol. after i graduated from UTM i think i want to work as an engineer and the first thing i want to buy is CAR... then i will think about house. House is very important because since nowadays the price continuing increase. After i got all of this then i will think about wife <3 lol
I want my future bright as other successful person with no need to worry about debt or other loan.
I want to live freedom and very peaceful. That's all... thank you..

Malaysian Culture :)

What is your favorite part about Malaysian Culture? 

As I am a Malaysian, of course I proud to be it. This is because Malaysian is not only Malay. But we have a lot of races with three major races which are Malay, Chinese and India. The other races are minority such as Malanau, Iban, Melayu Sarawak and the other ethnics. Even we are not same races but we still can stay together to built up our lovely country to become a modern country. Lets move to the best part of the Malaysian which is the FOOD!!! In every town in Malaysia there will be a lot of type of restaurant. We as a consumer just make decision which one would we want to eat either Malay food, Mamak food, or Chinese food. Variety of taste we will know if we try all of them. yummy!!

My name is Muhammad Rostdan Bin Md Akhir. I came from Gerik Perak, my primary and lower secondary school were there. I continue my study for upper secondary school at MRSM Langkawi that bring me to UTM. I actually a little bit special than other first year student in here that I have one year earlier than other. Normally they came from Matriculation College or Foundation in UITM but me? I came from Exppress Mara-UTM that directly intake after we have done our SPM. In UTM, i am searching for sport that can bring me far that is why I join Viking U-team. I chose this sport because not everyone can enjoy this sport. That give me an advantage to represent this University.
